Why I Build Bio Dental the Way I Did!

Dr. Castillo

I have been working in the dental field for more than 25 years. At first, I followed the model that was taught to me in dental school. Like many dentists today, I would treat the mouth as if it was its own separate entity. After all, that’s how it was presented to us in school. The longer I was in the field, the more I began to question why we practiced this way. The mouth is just one of many parts of the body, and all symptoms work together to promote overall wellbeing. This is where the idea of Bio Dental sparked. I am Dr. Candida Castillo, and this is Bio Dental!

How Does Holistic Dentistry Work?

Holistic dentistry, sometimes called biological dentistry, is based on the understanding that your oral health is interconnected with your entire body. Instead of viewing the teeth and gums as separate systems, a holistic dentist considers how different dental decisions impact long-term wellness and quality of life. Ultimately, at Bio Dental, we focus on your entire person instead of just your teeth and gums. We consider how patients’ oral health affects their heart, immune system, digestion, and other symptoms in the body. With this approach, we combine traditional dentistry with natural techniques and biocompatible materials.

Key Aspects of Holistic Dental Care

At Bio Dental, I treat patients with the following things in mind:

  • Part of holistic dental care is treating the root cause of an ailment instead of just the symptoms.
  • I always choose the safest materials available for procedures. This means alternative, natural treatment solutions that are metal-free and mercury-free.
  • Prevention and long-term health are prioritized over quick fixes. This means better education, guidance, and early detection to reduce the need for more invasive treatments down the road.

Is Bio Dental Right for You?

I built this practice for those who have been searching for a holistic approach to dentistry. I believe you deserve a dentist who considers your entire body as opposed to just the tooth they are working on. Someone who chooses materials carefully, explains their reasoning along the way, and makes the space for you to ask questions so you can make informed decisions about your health. If that sounds like the dentist that you want to see, my practice was built with you in mind.

If you are wondering how your old amalgam fillings are affecting you, hoping for safer alternatives, and wanting to understand the “whys” of dentistry, you have come to the right place!
